..-.To Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of NCUE's Department of Fine Arts -

..- The journey began with a simple map, aiming to capture the feeling of exploration.
...At that stage, I wasn’t sure where the best starting point for the player's journey would be. Initially, I considered beginning underground, but my love for sunshine and epic views led me to set the starting point at an elevated location: a watchtower on the Martian surface.
...From there, players can look out through windows to view the terrain, an antenna, and, of course, some cool interior details. -

..- The first hub was designed in a circular shape to provide the best views of the outdoors, while also allowing easy access to doors leading to other locations. Below are some early stage top view for the hub -

..- Some early modelling in 3dsmax with Vray lighting setup, Vray decals is very helpful to add extra details later on. -

..- Later, moved the starting point to this room to give players more space to interact with the control UI, guided by on-screen text. -

..- Added some interactive screens and text, such as this one, which displays additional details when approached. This 360VR experience was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of NCUE, my alma mater. -

..- Used white and blue lighting to guide the player out of the hub. -

..- Designed the first junction to offer multiple paths, allowing players to explore various new locations. There are several visible exits, as well as hidden paths for players to discover. -

..- Below are some 360 hotspots captures from this underground junctionA1. -

..- There are several other highlights on this tour, but my favorite is the Human Museum, where I showcase a collection of human bones, with dedicated space for each one. -

..- Placed a console around the corner and allowing the player to access the setup webpage. On the right-hand side, the player can see the path leading to the lower level. -

..- I really enjoy the intricate mechanical details, so I added even more to the lower level. An open box reveals a display of a golden skeleton, This station is equipped with various experimental tools for the task. -

..- Some screenshots from other hotspots. -

..- Some extra details for fun -

..-Below are some early stage 3dmax scenes rendered with vray to check the lighting, mood and camera position before rendering out 360 panoramas of the hub -

..-Below are all 66 panoramas for the tour, each rendered at a resolution of 12,000 x 6,000 pixels using V-Ray GPU. Some of the more complex scenes took up to an hour to render. -
